Please note that there may be a delay for tests taken in Italy, they may start at 12:00 CET.
Once you have registered with your chosen university in Italy via the Universitaly web site, you can follow a link from there to the Minerva test booking pages to select the country and location in which you wish to take the test.
If you have already completed that process, you will now have a booking email confirming you have paid for your test session. You do not need to take that to the test centres on the 17th September as staff there will only need to see your Photo ID.
On September the 6th or the 13th, the test centre you have booked with, will email you with details about how to get to the test centre and they will also provide you with other useful information that will help you with practical arrangements on the test day.

How do I make a test booking?
Candidates register via the UniversItaly website and then book the test through our payment system.
When can I register?
Registration opens on the 2nd September 2022 and closes on the 12th September 2024 at 15:00CET (Central European Time).
How many universities can I select?
You must select a first-choice university. For information about selecting further universities, visit the UniversItaly website.

- If you have not yet paid the registration fee, you need to click on the "Delete IMAT registration" button. Immediately after this you will be able to change your first choice. You may do this until 12th September 2024 at 15:00CET (Central European Time).
- If you have already paid the registration fee, then you need to click on the "Delete IMAT registration" button and wait for the confirmation from Minerva Testing that the refund is being processed. We will do this as quickly as possible, but this may take several working hours. Once this has happened, you will be able to re-book. Because you need to have this process completed by 12th September 2024 at 15:00CET (Central European Time), we recommend you do not start the cancellation and rebooking process after 10am on that day.
I am a non-Italian student; how do I obtain a Fiscal Code/Codice Fiscale (required for registration)?
When registering on the UniversItaly website, a Fiscal Code/Codice Fiscale will be automatically generated for non-Italian students. Simply click on this automatically generated code in order to populate the relevant field.
Are candidates required to remember their Fiscal Code/Codice Fiscale on the day of the test?
Non-Italian candidates are not required to remember their Fiscal Code/Codice Fiscale on the day of the test. On the day of the test, non-Italian candidates can leave blank the Fiscal Code/Codice Fiscale field of their registration form. However, Italian candidates must complete it and therefore must be able to remember their Fiscal Code/Codice Fiscale on the day of the test.
How do I arrange to receive access arrangements (for example, extra time required for dyslexia)?
Test takers requiring access arrangements should immediately contact their first-choice Italian university to request their requirements. Decisions about access arrangements are made at the discretion of the universities, who will advise Minerva Testing of arrangements that have been agreed. You must submit your request for access arrangements to your first-choice university as soon as possible and no later than the 12th September 2024.
What do I need to bring with me on the day of the test?
You must bring a photographic form of identification, that is, a driving licence, passport or national identity card. This must be an original document that is valid but does not need to match the document you entered on UniversItaly.it.
Please be aware that you may be required to remain in the test venue for up to four hours from the start of the test. Please ensure your travel arrangements take this into account. You will not be allowed to leave early.

What happens after the test date?
The question paper and answers are published on the MUR website in advance of results being released. Candidates have five days to submit ‘item challenges’ from the date these are published. Results are normally available within approximately four weeks of the test date. MUR release results on their website. For details, please refer to https://www.universitaly.it/
Can I appeal my result?
MUR, and therefore Minerva Testing, does not provide a Results Enquiry process for IMAT.
When will I find out if I have been accepted on to the course?
Please contact the university in Italy directly who will be able to advise you on the specific timeline for their 2024 admissions.
How much does it cost to register for IMAT?
GBP 114.00, EUR 130.00 or USD 164.00. The currency you pay will depend on the location of your selected test centre.

Will I receive confirmation of payment – what form does this take and how will it be received?
Yes, you will receive an email confirming payment. This will be sent to the email address you provide during the registration/payment process.
Can I pay without a credit/debit card (e.g. bank transfer, cash)?
No, this is not possible.
I haven’t received the confirmation email – how can I obtain these?
Please check all email addresses used in the registration process, including your spam/junk mail folders. If you still require assistance, please contact our support team at bookings@minervatesting.com.
How do I cancel my IMAT registration and receive a refund?
You can cancel your IMAT test session booking and will receive a full refund if you do so by 12:00CET on the 13th September 2024. No refunds are possible after this date.
How long does it take for a refund to be issued?
It can take up to 21 days for the refund to reach your account.

My attempted payment has failed – what should I do?
If you are having any problems making a payment, there are a few things you can try:
- Ensure that you are entering your details exactly as they appear on the card you are using.
- Attempt payment using a different card.
- Clear the cache, cookies and browser history in your web browser, and then attempt the payment again.
- Try using a different browser or computer to complete your payment.
- If your problems persist, you will need to contact your card issuer to ask for their assistance.
I am/my family are in receipt of welfare benefits – can the fee be reimbursed?
No, this is not possible.
